From theory to practice: our test productions for plastic inks
Developing a color exactly according to the customer’s wishes is one thing. But whether this achieves the desired result in the application is a completely different question – and we can answer that precisely by producing product samples.
With the help of common production equipment, we are able to simulate various manufacturing processes and use exactly the method that the customer also uses in his production.
Even in terms of material usage, there are no limits – we can process almost all thermoplastic carrier polymers and have them in stock.
In this way, product samples are created that correspond exactly in their technical and optical properties to the end product desired by the customer. Thus, at the end of the sampling, our customers hold one or more products in their hands that clearly show whether the color mixture also meets their wishes and requirements in the application.
Whether it’s a bottle crate or a dashboard, most plastic articles are manufactured by injection molding. For this reason, we have several injection molding machines in operation at the same time in order to be able to produce product samples for our customers at short notice, even at high capacity utilization.
Blown film extrusion
With our blown film extruder, we produce blown films under real operating conditions, such as those used in the food industry. In this way, the behavior of blown films during coloring can be optimally simulated.
Flat film extrusion
Sampling is particularly important for flat films, as this is the only way to accurately test the properties and color fastness of the desired end product in advance. With our flat film extruder, we produce film samples that exactly meet our customers’ specifications.
We also have the right equipment in our production halls for the production of PE and PP sample bottles. Both mono and coextrusion processes are used to create product samples here, for example for bottles used in the cosmetics industry.
Spray stretch glass molds
The coloring of PET-C (semi-crystalline) plastics, which are used in the beverage industry for example, can be simulated in our own bottle blowing plant.
To test formulations with laser additives, a Nd:YAG laser operating at a wavelength of 1,064 nm is available at the Finke Technical Center. Colored injection molded parts, blow molded bottles and hollow bodies or foils can be provided with different laser markings at a speed of up to 5,000 mm/s.
