Laser marking in plastics processing
Laser marking is an advanced technology that is used for precise, permanent and environmentally friendly markings on plastics. This method makes it possible to customize products and place important information such as serial numbers, logos or safety markings directly on the plastic surface. The markings are resistant to external influences such as moisture, chemicals or UV radiation. As a result, they retain their legibility even under extreme conditions, making them ideal for applications where durability and counterfeit protection are crucial.
Development of specialized masterbatches for NIR technology
At Finke, we have developed masterbatches that are specifically equipped with laser additives and designed for NIR technology. In addition to the additives for light marking (foaming) and dark marking (carbonizing) that have been available for many years, we have now expanded the range to Fibaplast masterbatches for colored laser marking. On a dark surface, the colorful markings create attractive and eye-catching designs.
Also new are masterbatches with a special additive, which enable dark markings in transparent plastics such as PET, PC or PMMA. This gives the impression that they are integrated into the matrix of the plastic. This technology ensures that the surface of the material remains undamaged and its properties are not impaired.
Meeting design-for-recycling requirements
The new laser marking masterbatch range offers versatile, sustainable and decorative solutions for marking plastic products, especially for complex geometries and demanding applications such as injection molding and extrusion processes.
By eliminating the need for labels and sleeves on packaging, companies can also improve key design-for-recycling requirements and drive an optimal circular economy.
Whether technical applications, food packaging or toys – the experienced Finke team will be happy to support your new project from the initial idea to series production.
