Packaging with recognition value: Highlights from PCD Paris
On February 5 and 6, 2026, Finke Colors was represented at PCD in Paris by our French colleagues, as it is every year.
Paris Packaging Week is one of the most important trade fairs for innovative packaging solutions in the cosmetics and premium segment – and for us, one of the most important target trade fairs of the year.
This is where the people who are particularly relevant to us as a masterbatch manufacturer come together: brand owners, packaging developers, designers, material experts, and decision-makers from the cosmetics and premium segment. Here we meet those who decide on product identity, material selection, and visual differentiation – in other words, exactly where color is used strategically.
A special highlight of our booth were our natural imitations, which can also be seen on the cover photo of this article. The deceptively real surfaces in wood, stone, or marble look attracted numerous visitors – and caused immediate reactions: hardly anyone could walk by without picking up the samples themselves. It is precisely this tactile experience that shows how strongly color and pigmentation can contribute to the value and differentiation of a product.
What particularly pleased us was that, in addition to the high demand for authentic natural looks, there was also unexpectedly strong interest in special effects pigments. After the trend toward effect masterbatches had weakened somewhat in recent years, visitors to this trade fair specifically asked about these exhibits. From subtle mica accents to expressive color gradients and iridescent effects, many customers saw new opportunities to enhance their premium packaging and clearly differentiate themselves from the competition.
Discussions revealed how important innovative surfaces, visual customization, and reliable process stability have become for the beauty and personal care industry. Our combination of design expertise and masterbatch technology offers a decisive advantage here: visual diversity without compromising on processing, quality, or sustainability requirements.
