Wuppertal, August 2015 – Karl Finke GmbH & Co. KG successfully completed its first annual renewal audit concerning ISO 14001 and ISO 50001, as well as the annual audit for ISO 9001, on June 30. The auditor, TÜV Nord, confirmed that environmental management, energy management and quality management at Finke conform to standard and are applied to productive effect. Once more, Finke is demonstrating its capabilities with reference to environmental protection and sustainability. The company warrants towards customers, partners, regulatory authorities and the public in general, that impacts on the environment are competently monitored, subjected to ongoing measurement procedure and consistently reduced.
“We take great pride in the fact that we have passed the audit without any problems. We have made the issue of responsibility towards both man and nature a permanent feature of our corporate policy. The consistent improvement of our environmental management ranks among our top priorities”, said Managing Director Felix Finke.
Before the certification was renewed, Finke was subjected to a rigorous programme of evaluation by the auditors at TÜV Nord. All of its operational procedures, programmes and methods came under close scrutiny. Evaluation procedure also extended to take in written documentation of the company’s environmental policy, the inspection and assessment of all issues of environmental relevance, the documentation of environment-related objectives, the implementation and realisation of the system of environmental management and the effectiveness of control and corrective measures. In addition, Finke were required to provide evidence to the effect that the suitability and effectiveness of their system of environmental management underwent systematic and regular checks with a view to ensuring that the guarantee that it could be brought into line with state-of-the-art technology and current legislation at any given time remained intact at all times.
Standard ISO 14001 sets out the criteria that are to be met to create and maintain an efficient and effective system of environmental management. It provides a framework which serves to assist and support companies in their effort to evaluate all of the effects and impacts that are of significance from the point of view of our environment, to develop an environmental policy that is specifically geared towards the immediate needs of a given company and to systematically organise and install its system of environmental management and effectively implement that system in practice.
Serving as a meaningful addition, ISO 50001 creates the basis for a sustainable policy of energy management. It systematically identifies potential for enhancing energy efficiencies, thereby creating situations whereby energyconsumption levels and CO2-emissions are reduced; the focus is likewise firmly fixed on enhancing sustainability standards.
